Education:

• Went to Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool for High School
• Enrolled at University of Pretoria for Bcom Business Management
• Accredited Level 1 Triathlon Coach, Level 2 – Pending

Sporting Success:

• Nico have achieved many outstanding sporting successes in the past 5 years, competing against top national and international Triathletes
• Lately he has shifted his focus over to Xterra racing (off-road triathlons) and Mountain Biking
• With some major podium results in Mountain biking he is sure to be able to compete against the best cyclist in Mountain Biking in the country

2013 Outstanding Achievements:

• 3rd SOLO overall JoBerg2C Mountain Bike Race
• 2nd overall Magalies Monster Mountain Bike Race
• 3rd overall SA Tri Cross Championships
• 4th overall Xterra Buffelspoort

2012 Outstanding Achievements:

• 1st Overall African Tri Cross Championships
• 17th Elite Overall Tri Cross World Championships Alabama USA
• Ranked no 1 South African Elite Triathlete 2011 Outstanding Achievements
• 19th Elite Overall Tri Cross World Championships Extrumadura Spain

Coaching Success:

• Nico is the Champion Swimming Club coach at Virgin Active Rooihuiskraal (Reds) and Centurion designated to triathlon and adult open water
• He also offers advice and swim conditioning plans for Open water swimmers and Triathletes Coaching is in Nico’s blood
• He has actively been coaching swimming for Triathletes and open water swimmers for the past 6 years
• He started up a triathlon Academy with JP Nortje and Delwyn Dunbar
• This Academy has grown from strength to strength over the past 5 years to become one of the leading triathlon Academies in South Africa
• The Academy conditions and coaches multiple national champions in various sports - Thabang Madiba (SA Trail Running Champion) and Jarred Crous (SA 100m Breast Stroke Champion) just to name a few
